At the moment Evelyn and I have been working on a maths game to make for the class, This game uses decimals and we are recreating snake and ladders but using maths. We made another game for the class to use, Mrs Anderson's maths group used the decimal game to order them smallest to largest. Our teacher suggested Evelyn and I to make another game for the class. What you have to do in the first game is put together smallest to largest in the decimals that we have given to them.
I am a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson, Ms Naicker and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Sketch note
Over the last few days we have been learning to create sketchnotes. A sketchnote is when we gather information on a topic and record our facts using pictures, symbols and words. The topic that we were doing yesterday was Rio De Janeiro and the Olympics. One of the things I drew was Christ the Redeemer because he is an important landmark in Rio. It was very fun to do but the main thing was to create our sketchnote to record information in our own words or pictures. I found out that when I looked back at my sketchnote I could tell my partner my learning story.

Walk a mile in my shoes - Athletes
This photo shows Evelyn and i receiving a medal from the Rio Olympic. The reason we did was because we were doing it for the sketchnote we needed to get an image showing a person from your country holding a medal. First we had to find a image of a NZ medal winner on the podium from the Rio Olympics The find an image of yourself after that you have to crop your face out of the photo and put it on the Image you chose.
E-ako Maths
This is my screenshot that shows what I've been learning on e-ako maths. I have been learning to Match pictures of fractions with their symbols and names. I have completed my work and I will be going to do another set of fractions. I learned that we have to split fractions into equal parts, and you can use fractions with anything e.g " Bread " Cutting bread into equal parts.

Run Jump Throw
On Wednesday LS2 went to Run,Jump,Throw with Andi. Our topic that we were talking about was Long Jump based on the Olympics. We all had to stand behind the line and then Jump to the next line to see how far we could go, After doing that we got into our groups and we jumped to the line and there would be a person who would put the cone from where you landed. If you landed the furthest then you would have to stand on the White patch and I was one of those people.

Current Events - Olympics
The topic that we were working on was about the sportsmanship between Nikki Hamblin and Abbey D'Agostino. Nikki was tripped up in the 5000m heat in Rio. When she fell Abbey D'Agostino tripped over her. They way they helped each other finish the race showed sportsmanship. I am glad to see sportsmanship happening in the Olympics because it shows what fair play looks like. I think these runners are great role models. Link to Site

Art challenge
Yesterday we did an art challenge while half of the class was at Netball inter-school. This art was on the Olympics, first we had to chose a silhouette based on Olympics. I chose a gymnastic design, after choosing the silhouette we had to design the background meaning getting shapes and drawing it on the background. After finishing we drawed pastel on the shapes and Mrs anderson put some black ink on the lines. When that was done we glued our silhouette's on.

Writing - Language Features
Mrs Naicker gave us a paper and on that paper there was a story about the hail storm, and we had to figure out which sentences were Language features.
Language Features
This week in writing we learned about Language Features. We had to make a DLO on Language features, Mrs Naicker told us what we had to do. We had to pick a buddy to do the DLO with My partner and I chose to do these words because it was a verb,Adverb and adjectives.
Run Jump Throw
Today we had Run Jump Throw. We had to Bend our elbows then do cheek to cheek. When andy said On your mark we had to put our left foot infront of the yellow line but if we were running in the Olympic games and if we put our foot infront of the line that meant that you would be disqualified. When andy said Set we ran to the other side doing cheek to cheek. I also used high knees to get to the other side faster.

This is another maths game that i have done, i had to order the fractions Highest to lowest. I had to pick the apples from a arrow if it was the wrong number then it would of been rejected but If you got the right answer then the little character ate the apple. I enjoyed this game because it was fun and it was also a maths game. If you would like to play this game or practice ordering your number then i will leave a link at the bottom of my blog post.
Ordering numbers - Maths game
This is a screenshot of my results, Half of LS2 did a practice on the Ikan test after doing the test. Mrs Anderson told us what we struggled on and she found maths games for us because we got some questions wrong but then we had to practice those questions on a maths game. For this game I had to order the numbers smallest to biggest it also showed balloons which had the numbers on it and there was a pin i used that pin to pop the balloons and this was my final score.

Hoverbike Poster
LS2 have been working on advertisements, in one of the activity we had to partner up with a buddy and make you own advertisement about a hoverbike. The reason we did this was because LS2 watched a short animation about a character riding a hoverbike but the character did not read the instructions so it turned out that the hoverbike chased him and if you would like to watch the rest of the video I will leave the link in the bottom of this blog post.

No Girls Allowed - Winter Learning Journey
Women were allowed to participate in sporting events in Sparta. women weren't allowed active participation in the Olympics. I don't think it is fair on the women that weren't aloud in the Olympics because they might of trained hard and then they just weren't aloud to be in the Olympics. In fact women were often forbidden from even watching the games.
Milo of Croton - Winter Learning Journey
- Milo was a six-time Olympic victor. He won the boys' wrestling (probably in 540 BC), and thereafter five men's wrestling titles between 536 and 520 BCE. He also won seven crowns at the Pythian Games at Delphi (one as a boy

This afternoon. The Year 7's had their first lesson at life ed. At the start of the session, Nicole asked if we know what our heart looks like. Most people showed her a shape of a love heart. Nicole told us that when your heart is beating fast when you meet someone you like e.g What if shawn johnson came inside the room? Your heart would be beating fast and if you connect the two hearts together / yours and shawn johnson's then it would make a love heart. The nervous(Nerves/Reactions), Circulatory(Blood) and the Muscular(which stands for muscles) . Those were the things that nicole told us. She also told us the 5 sense's ( Sight, Hear, Smell, Taste and feel).

Information Report
What killed the dinosaurs?
Are dinosaurs real? People are claiming that dinosaurs are real and some other people are saying they're not real. Some people try to figure out whether dinosaurs are real or not. Do you think dinosaurs are real?
The Ice age would of killed many of the planet's living species. Do you think Dinosaurs still exist?. The earth cools into periods which some people call it Ice age. There is no real evidence of an Ice age at this time.
We are all aware that the dinosaurs got hit by the meteor, but what if we're wrong?. 10 km wide meteorite had smashed in Mexico. Did you know that the hypothesised ice age would of killed all living species into extinction, including dinosaurs.
Researchers have discovered that waves of eruptions had released huge clouds of sulfur dioxide into the air, Bringing showers of acid rain occurred between 67.5 and 65 million years ago. The dinosaurs extinction was caused by a single meteor. Geological evidence shows that a giant meteorite about six miles wide.
Dinosaurs were real until they died, some people do not know what caused it, dinosaurs are extinct because of the meteor that hit them, there is clear evidence to what caused their death.
We have been doing our writing task, which we had to do our paragraphs to make it into a information report. I have learned alot about this topic, My partner and I found out What killed the dinosaurs and we found out that the dinosaurs got hit by a Meteor.
