This Afternoon, We had two classes Room 3 and Room 4 come to our class to buddy read. My buddy and I read a book called a tiny seed, After reading the book I asked my buddy questions about the story he read. Then We went and chose another book to read.

Book Week - Special assembly

    Today we had a special duffy assembly. It was special because this week is book week so we dressed up as characters from various books. There was a women who dressed up as Gangster granny and she talked to us about the gangster granny book.

Advertising

 Today, we have created a DLO on Advertising, We had to write 25 words to explain what advertisement is. We had to go in our group and look at a piece of paper that explained advertising, then a person from our group would go to the paper and go back to the group and tell the writer what to write.

Winter Learning Journey

For this Winter Learning journey task I had to write a poem. I had to write a poem about how I would feel if I was a news reporter and Got paid to attend the Olympic Games and  report on the Golf/Rugby competitions

Standing and waiting for the game to begin. Im getting quite nervous.
Im in shock as I see hitting, kicking all over the place.
Is this right?, am I at the correct game?.
All of a sudden i hear an applause Well I guess I am at the correct game.

Here is a photo of me doing on the Olympic sport which is Athletics running. I  have chosen this sport because running challenges me and I like to run it was just like the 4 orienteering we had that evolved running. I enjoy running and I like to take risks with running.

Day 2 - Winter Learning Journey

For this winter learning journey activity  I  have watched a video about the Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympics mascots. Their names and Tom and Vinicius. After watching the video I researched about them and found some very interesting facts.

No Girls Allowed - Winter Learning Journey

Women were allowed to participate in sporting events in Sparta. women weren't allowed active participation in the Olympics. I don't think it is fair on the women that weren't aloud in the Olympics because they might of trained hard and then they just weren't aloud to be in the Olympics. In fact women were often forbidden from even watching the games.

  In This activity I had to find facts about Milo of Croton I found some interesting facts in the Wikipedia site. It was  quite hard finding these facts and I found out that he was a 6th century BC wrestler.

Day 1 - Sports In the Ancient Olympic - Winter Learning Journey

The sport that I will pick out of the running, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse riding and pentahlon, is going to be pentahlon iv'e chosen this sport because I will be able to challenge myself and take risks. It's possible that i can get injured from pentahlon but that is why i have chosen this sport. As you can see in the photo it is an ancient stadium.                                                                                      

Orienteering

Today We had another orienteering lesson,This time we had two different courses. On my first one I did the first course and once I finished that course I went back to Leon and got my 2nd course. After all the running I finished both of the courses and I was done. Everyone was finished and Was happy with what they did.

Interschool - Orienteering

Today we had orienteering, We went to Pt England Reserve and we traveled in cars. It took time because Zahn, Manu, Mia and I were the last group to go. When we got there we quickly ran to the place where we were supposed to go, The orienteering team got into their lines which was Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 but there was girls and boys lines. All of a sudden Tamaki primary comes around the corner and that was the school that we versed. I was in the 5th line and we got up to run and then we ran and I finished in 11th place. 

Life Ed - Year 7's

This afternoon. The Year 7's had their first lesson at life ed. At the start of the session, Nicole asked if we know what our heart looks like. Most people showed her a shape of a love heart. Nicole told us that when your heart is beating fast when you meet someone you like e.g What if shawn johnson came inside the room? Your heart would be beating fast and if you connect the two hearts together / yours and shawn johnson's then it would make a love heart. The nervous(Nerves/Reactions), Circulatory(Blood) and the Muscular(which stands for muscles) . Those were the things that nicole told us. She also told us the 5 sense's ( Sight, Hear, Smell, Taste and feel).
